US Airborne Platoon
“The Germans have us surrounded – the poor bastards!” US Paratrooper at Bastogne, December 1944 US paratroopers were trained to drop deep into enemy territory and seize key positions, attack the enemy rear, block enemy reserves, or delay a retreating enemy. Lightly armed, US Airborne forces had to use their training, courage and initiative against heavy odds. At Bastogne, their heroic defence cemented their legendary reputation for courage and skill.
